Cooking Matters for Parents

 Let's have fun with cooking at this six week hands-on cooking course which teaches adults and parents how to prepare and shop sensibly for healthy meals on a limited budget.

Please commit to the full six week program. Lessons 1 through 4 include an instructor-led participatory food preparation session with sufficient groceries for participants to make and eat a serving of two to three recipes during class. During Lessons 1 through 4, participants will be provided with a take-home bag of groceries with the primary ingredients to make at least one recipe at home. Lesson 5 will include a trip to the grocery store or a simulated in-class store experience in which participants are given the opportunity to practice their shopping skills to purchase a healthy basket of food. Lesson 6 is a celebration!

This event will be presented by Rachel Stankiewitch with the Family Nutrition Program at the UF/IFAS Extension office.
