Melrose Tween & Teen Camp: Audio Production

 The Melrose Center will feature week-long, 2-hour camp-style sessions from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. A materials fee of $25 applies for each camp. Registration is required with a Library card in good standing. Seats are limited, so register today!

Get hands-on experience in audio production! Work with experienced instructors and a team of students to create the soundtrack for a movie trailer. Use our state-of-the-art studio, including the Avid C-24 Control Surface, to record dialogue and polish your project. Showcase your work at the end of the week and take home a USB-bracelet with your final project file.

Day 1: Introduction & Spotting: Learn about the project and Pro Tools. “Spot” your video by identifying specific parts where you want audio.

Day 2: Room Tone: Learn about “room tone,” a foundational sound bed that gives audio a sense of realism, and then add it to your project.

Day 3: Sound Effects & Music: Add foreground sound effects and music to your project.

Day 4: Dialogue: In the Audio Studio, record dialogue and then add it to your project.

Day 5: Automation & Mixing: Polish your project using the Avid C-24 Control Surface.

Day 6: Present Project: Screen your final project in the Tech Central presentation area.

 Most classes are free to Orange County district resident cardholders, Fee cardholders, and Orange County Property Owner cardholders. Some classes include a fee to cover the cost of materials. Registration is required. To register, you can do so online, call 407.835.7323 or stop by any of our locations.

Out of district residents will be charged a non-refundable fee to register for a class. Please check event details for applicable fees. Where they apply, registration fees must be paid prior to class time.To pay for your class please call us at 407.835.7323 or visit any of our locations in person.

A $5 late cancellation fee will be charged unless reservations are cancelled by 11:59 pm the day before the event is scheduled.
