The Melrose Center will feature week-long, 2-hour camp-style sessions from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. A materials fee of $25 applies for each camp. Registration is required with a Library card in good standing. Seats are limited, so register today!Library: Melrose Center
Craft simple and easy projects using LED lights, a Silhouette cutter and a 3D printer.
Day 1: Exploring Circuitry with LED Lights: Create a personalized greeting card with a flashing LED! Use electronic components and conductive paint to construct a simple circuit. Learn basic electronics concepts like polarity, switches, conductivity and LEDs.
Day 2: Personalized Stickers with Silhouette Studio: Create a customized vinyl sticker using the Silhouette Cameo electronic cutting machine. Learn the basics of Silhouette Studio graphic design software including adding shapes, designs and text.
Day 3: Custom Cookie Cutters & 3D Printing: Use a simple online tool to design your own custom cookie cutter. See your design come to life as it is created on one of our 3D printers.
Day 4: Photo Booth and Button Maker: Create buttons using photos and a button press. Customize the look of your buttons with graphic design and photo editing software.
Day 5: Build a LED Night Light: Create a customized night light using the Silhouette Cameo electronic cutting machine. Create a basic circuit while learning simple circuitry and electronics.
Day 6: Showcase: The spotlight is on you! On the last day of the camp, youíll have a chance to present your awesome projects to your family, friends, and others who will attend the campís Showcase event. Share what you have learned about Electronic Engineering!

Cost for out-of-county kids: $75 for each camp (includes classes and materials)
Most classes are free to Orange County district resident cardholders, Fee cardholders, and Orange County Property Owner cardholders. Some classes include a fee to cover the cost of materials. A $5 late cancellation fee will be charged unless reservations are cancelled by 11:59 pm the day before the event is scheduled.
