 Join Dr. Scott Warfield for the last installment in the America’s Music series which focuses on how the influx of Latino immigrants changed the popular culture and music of the United States during 60s and 70s. Latin Music USA: Episode 1, narrated by Jimmy Smits, presents the story of Afro Cuban jazz and mambo. Also being shown is the ALMA award-winning documentary, From Mambo to Hip-Hop: A South Bronx Tale which demonstrates how, like mambo before it, hip hop sought to both reflect and defy the economic deprivation of its creators.
